The Bridley Resident's Association operates under a necessary cloak of secrecy. It wouldn't be a good

idea if the politically correct City types got a whiff of what was going on under its aegis. For that

reason, membership was strictly by invitation. A member of the Association would suggest a man of the

right character and standing and provided there were no objections, he would be considered as a

candidate member. After six months, if he had proven his dedication, and above all his discretion, he

could go forward to full membership. There was one final condition, however, he would be required to

present the committee with a suitable female. The woman in question could be a relative or an

employee. The only restriction was that she should be of legal age. It was not necessary that she had

committed any offence. Indeed several of the members were of the opinion that the more innocent the

female in question the better proof this was of the candidate member's dedication.

Like any secret society membership brought certain perks and the camaraderie forged in shared

endeavour meant that the Association was a useful way of building business relationships and

advancing professionally. For that reason, Brian was delighted when Albert approached him with a

quiet word in his ear one night. That was six months ago and after regularly attending and listening to

the exciting activities recounted he was keen to proceed to full membership. The only obstacle was the

requirement that he provide a “suitable female” Brian had only recently moved down here from the city

and had no female relatives in close proximity. Work was out of the question. That only left one

possibility: his pretty young wife Samantha. She was a real looker no doubt about it. Indeed one of the

committee members had pretty much come right out and said how much they would like to get their

hands on her.

The thought was shocking but as he milled it over in his mind, he had to confess that it was also

strangely thrilling. They had been married just over five years, after dating a couple of years

beforehand and while there sex life was adequate, it had tended to become a bit routine. As hard as he

tried to get the idea out of his mind the thought of his pretty wife in the hands of this bunch of old perverts

made him a little dizzy with excitement.

Samantha needless to say was less keen.

“It's nothing really. They just want to meet you. Take a bit of a look at you to see if you are suitable”

His wife was under no illusions what that meant. Like most of the local women she found the

Association sinister.

“It would really help my career and if it goes well we can start thinking about that new extension. Bob

has offered to do me deal on materials, but only if I become a full member.”

Samantha rolled over on her side. They did not make love that night, nor in fact for any of the nights

running up to the committee meeting. Finally she agreed, albeit with considerable reluctance.

“That's great love.” he said giving her a big kiss on her cheek. “And don't worry, I'll be there, so

nothing bad will happen. There really isn't anything to be nervous about. As I say they just want to

check you out, see if you are suitable as it were.

Still she continued to feel uneasy particularly when he insisted on her wearing some of the sexy

lingerie he had bought her. He told her it would help her to feel confident and make the right

impression. She looked terrific. He wanted to screw her there and then but she was having none of it.

The village hall was in partial darkness as their car pulled up. Only a room at the back was lit up. Brian

ushered his reluctant wife through the door and to the back where the committee members awaited.

There were four men aged between late forties and early sixties.

“Ah good evening Brian and this must be the lovely Samantha” the membership secretary Clive said

jovially. “Well, please make yourself comfortable”

The two chairs that were laid out in front of the committee table looked anything but comfortable but

they sat anyway.

“Well I am very pleased to inform you that the committee is very favourably inclined towards your

application. There are just a few remaining formalities.” The committee members looked knowingly at

one another.

Alf now addressed them. “This shouldn't take too long. Perhaps you want to nip down to the

Grey Whistle for a pint while we do what has to be done. It's 7:30 now, you can come back at 9:00 that

should give us more than enough time.”

Samantha looked at her husband with a desperate panicky look. To her horror, after a brief hesitation.

he stood up and left the room with a shamefaced expression on his face.

He was in his car and almost at the pub when he decided to turn back. He immediately regretted what

he had done. Horrible images flooded his mind and now there was no erotic thrill just downright terror

as he pictured what the men would be doing to her. No, he would march in there, rescue his wife and

tell them he had no further interest in joining their damn club.

When he got back to the village hall he found the front door bolted. He tried banging but received no

response. His heart pounding in his chest, he walked around the building to the room where the

committee were meeting. The heavy curtains allowed him no view but as he pressed his ear to the

window he was able to make out some muffled sounds.

First there was the quiet mumbling of male voices. Every now and again one of these voices was raised

to a military style bark. This was followed by other sounds, a scuffle and the sound of bodies, some

heavy footed, others lighter, the scraping of a high heel on a wooden floor, a metal chair scratching on

that floor and then silence interrupted by a plaintive female voice and the unmistakeable slap of a hand

against bare skin. A yelp of pain and further protest interrupted once again by the heavy fall of a hand

and then the sound become more rhythmic. Cries of encouragement drown out the sounds of pleading

and protest.

He has been to enough of the meetings to know precisely what is taking place and he feels like passing

out with fear and anxiety. Still he feels compelled to keep his ear pressed to the window as his mind

fills in the gaps.

There is quiet in the room other than a few mumbled male voices. Brian realises that this is the point

where his wife is being ordered to remove the rest of her clothes and strip down to her underwear. His

mind flashes back to times when she has worn it for his eyes alone and the thought that she is now

posing for these old men sickens him. He forms a vivid image of Samantha her shapely body encased in frothy black silk and satin.

The sound of the chair scraping the wooden floor again means that the next stage of proceedings is

under way. The committee has a formidable collection of implements and a vast amount of experience

in wielding them. They will be drawing lots to see who has the first go.

He can't hear the sound of the implement itself but the intensity of his wife's shriek indicates that it is

probably a cane or a whip. A ripple of applause goes around the table followed rapidly by another even

more heartfelt shriek and another, and another...

It's only just gone eight o'clock which means that Samantha, and his, ordeal has at least another hour to

last. He doesn't know how much he can bear but he feels compelled to keep his ear pressed to the

window.

More shrieks, more shuffling, the sound of low muffled sobs and male chatter and then Samantha,

whose only real offence is to be a dutiful and obedient wife, apparently receives the next round of

punishment. This time heavy thuds are audible and her husband surmises that she is having to endure a

strapping, probably from the leather barbers strap that Reg favours. The sound of his wife's voice so

familiar to him can be clearly heard making entirely unfamiliar noises, then silence and the sound of

furniture being re-arranged. This changeover happens a couple more times before he can hear glasses

clinking and hearty male laughter.

He looks at his watch and notes that it is still only 8:30. With a shock he realises that there is still a full

half an hour to go before his expected return. He doubts that Samantha can take much more

punishment and yet there it is the sound of the furniture being moved once again and then a slightly

different set of noises, creaking, slow and rhythmic at first and then more energetic interspersed by the

sounds of grunts and muffled moans. Chairs move again and the creaking resumes and then to

his absolute horror he hears his wife's voice screaming “No, God, please, no...no. Oh God” half protest half

Nine O'Clock finally arrives and he knocks timidly at the door wondering at what he will see. As the

door opens the scene looks innocuous enough. The four men all fully dressed sit at the top table. His

wife, also now fully dressed, sits awkwardly on the chair, sipping a drink. Only the slightly flushed

expression on their respective faces indicates that something untoward might have taken place.

“Well, everything seems to be in order. We very much look forward to seeing you at our next meeting

and to seeing your lovely wife again”

As he tries to usher his wife out she quickly pushes his hand away from the small of her back. The

drive home in complete silence. Reg picks up a pair of lacy black knickers from under the table and

after giving them a quick sniff locks them away carefully in the safe.
