“Well, Ms. Cindy,” Ms. Sandra said, her voice warm and satisfied, “I think our boy has done very well. Do you suppose he’s earned something?”

“Why not?” Ms. Cindy replied.

She bent down, slipped a straw between my lips, and told me to drink. I didn’t hesitate. The cold liquid slid down my throat—strangely sweet, not quite water. I swallowed anyway.

“You know,” Ms. Sandra continued, her tone shifting into something lighter, “all this has… energized me. I think I’ll retire to the bedroom for a moment.”

“Would you like company?” Ms. Cindy asked.

“I would,” she said. Then, as though only now remembering me, she added, “But what about our boy?”

“We can’t just leave him here,” Cindy said. “Not like this.”

Ms. Sandra paused. I could feel her eyes on me even before she spoke.

“Look at me, boy.”

My head lifted instantly. Her expression was unreadable—something between amusement and consideration.

“I’m putting a great deal of trust in you,” she said softly. “Please don’t let me down.”

“Thank you, Ms. Sandra,” I whispered automatically. “I’ll try not to.”

She raised a finger.
“Only speak when you’re told. Nod if you understand.”

I nodded.

“Good.” Her voice softened, almost maternal. “Ms. Cindy will uncuff your arms and attach the leash again. When she’s done, you will follow us. Quietly. On your knees, and you will behave. Do you understand?”

I nodded again, feeling heat crawl up my spine.

Ms. Sandra leaned forward, holding my head gently between her palms. She pressed a slow, deliberate kiss to my forehead—not affectionate, not comforting, but proprietary.

A brand delivered with lips instead of iron.

I followed them across the threshold, the leash tugging lightly at my collar. I should have been horrified by the way they led me—like something owned, something tamed—but instead it felt disturbingly natural. Every obedient step quieted the frantic part of my mind.

The bedroom was warm and softly lit, decorated in a style that mixed luxury with something older, darker. A heavy four-poster bed dominated one wall. The carpet under my knees was plush enough to muffle sound. A smaller door led into an ensuite, another into a walk-in closet. Against the far corner stood an antique wardrobe—polished wood, intricate carvings, the kind of thing that felt out of place in any normal home.

At the foot of the bed was a low, black metal enclosure—a cage built with far too much craftsmanship to be anything casual. A cushioned bench sat atop it like an afterthought.

I halted without meaning to. The leash snapped taut in Ms. Cindy’s hand, pulling her arm back.

“What now—” she began sharply, but then she saw what I was staring at.

A shape crouched inside the cage.

He was packed into the enclosure on his knees, his ankles secured to the bars. His arms had been fixed behind him with thick straps, contorted upward and outward in a way that made my own shoulders ache in sympathy. Over his head was a molded rubber hood—smooth, animal-like, featureless except for exaggerated ears and a snout shape where a breathing valve protruded. It wasn’t playful. It was dehumanizing. The kind of thing that looked like it belonged in an interrogation manual, not a bedroom.

Ms. Cindy gave a small, almost amused exhale.

“Gerald made some very… poor choices earlier,” she said lightly. “So he’s spending some time in punishment.”

Her voice had the tone of someone explaining a child’s time-out, not a man bound in a cage.

She tilted her head toward me, her hand tightening just enough on the leash to remind me it was there.

“Let’s make sure you don’t end up in the same position, hm?”

She guided me farther into the room, and I followed without resistance.
